Dear residents, We would like to alert the community that officers are currently dealing with a series of reported incidents in the Rush Common ward, in which a male has attempted to rob several members of the public.
These incidents have most commonly occurred during the early morning hours around 6am, and late at night after midnight. We are actively patrolling and putting plans in place as a priority to identify and arrest the individual responsible.
The suspect has been described as a Black male, approximately 6ft tall, and has been seen wearing a blue surgical mask. If you see someone matching this description, please do not approach them and avoid confrontation.
If you have CCTV, doorbell, or mobile phone footage that may be relevant, we encourage you to share this with us via BrixtonRushCommon@met.police.uk Please only do so if the footage can be obtained safely and without placing yourself at risk.
How you can help keep yourself safe:We ask residents to please make friends, family, and neighbours aware, particularly those who may be vulnerable or regularly travel during the times mentioned. Thank you for your continued support and vigilance. We will provide updates as soon as more information becomes available.
